Schools out, half term Skiing with children – Every second counts!

It can be amazing fun skiing with children after the initial dressing ritual and logistics of actually getting the child to the start of the piste. The enjoyment of seeing your child ski off their first button or chair lift can be very emotional (I can testify that Continue reading →

Image from Have you caught yourself asking the same question? Have I just torn my ACL? The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is an important stabilising ligament of the knee that is frequently injured, there are between 100,000 and 200,000 ACL ruptures per year in the United States alone. We treated over 40 ACL injuries in Continue reading →

SkiFit for all sports

I’m a Chamonix local so I’m expected to enjoy our mountain sports every winter season, I have the wonderful opportunity to Ski, Snowboard, Ski du fond, Snowshoe with spectacular scenery and the famous Mont Blanc mountain always in the background. Over the past few years my time on the mountain has reduced as having two small boys and a successful clinic to run can put the dampers on getting out so often into the mountains. I am trying to address this balance and 2015 will Continue reading →

This week our local ‘SkiFitters’ are in Week 4 of their SkiFit programme at La Clinique Du Sport.  We begin our programme eight weeks before the scheduled opening of the ski lifts which makes perfect sense – however ‘Toussaint’ is a two week French school holiday in which many families fly off to enjoy a late summer holiday before winter sets in and we pull out our many layers and change to snow tyres. The kids have just gone back to school and the ‘SkiFitters’ that Continue reading →
