Who is the SkiFit programme appropriate for?

The SkiFit programme has been developed to cater for all levels of skier from a recreational skier who has one ski holiday a year through to professional skiers such as ski instructors, ski guides and professional athletes. We recommend you consult your Doctor before you start any exercise programme.

Do I need gym or fitness equipment to do the SkiFit programme?

The SkiFit programme has been developed to require little or no specialist equipment. The items you will need are:

  • 2 towels
  • 5 litre water bottle partially filled with water
  • 2 litre water bottle partially filled with water
  • Ski pole
  • Yoga/Exercise mat (or large towel)
  • Gym/Exercise ball or chair

I’m having trouble viewing the SkiFit videos?

The SkiFit videos are hosted by Vimeo the biggest and most popular professional web based video delivery platform. There are several things you can do to improve your viewing of the SkiFit videos:

  1. Ensure your mobile device or computer is connected to a wireless network (WiFi) and that the connection signal is strong.
  2. Use wireless networks with access to a fast internet connection.
  3. If using the BeFitApps website you can switch the video between High Definition (HD) and normal definition versions by clicking the HD icon in the bottom right of the video player.

You can also improve access to SkiFit programme videos by purchasing the SkiFit app which allows video downloading for off-line use.

How do I know when to progress between the SkiFit phases?

You should start the SkiFit programme with the phase 1 workout. Each workout phase should be completed for a minimum of 2-3 times per week for 2 weeks (i.e. 4-6 times over 2 weeks) before progression to the next phase should be considered. Before moving on to the next phase you must be able to complete the related progression exercise with stability and control. When you are confident you can do this test exercise you can move on to the next phase, otherwise you should continue to complete the previous phase workout. Bear in mind that phases 3 and 4 are increasingly demanding workouts and may not be appropriate for you depending on your fitness levels and desired skiing level.

How do I cancel my subscription for SkiFit?

Please note that when you cancel your subscription, your access to the SkiFit programme will end immediately:

  1. Login to your BeFitApps account.
  2. Click on the My Account button displayed in the website header on the right.
  3. Scroll to the Member links section of your Membership account page.
  4. Click on the Cancel membership link

How do I listen to the SkiFit Spotify playlist while also viewing and listening to a SkiFit video?

We find that using motivating high energy music really helps when completing a SkiFit workout, so we have provided a SkiFit Spotify playlist with the music we use in the live SkiFit classes in Chamonix on the BeFitApps website. This is displayed in the sidebar of the website when you are viewing a SkiFit page. To listen to this playlist while completing a workout requires some trial and error adjustment of the volumes in both the Spotify player and also in the SkiFit video player to ensure you can hear both. We recommend you start by clicking play on the Spotify playlist to open the Spotify application first. Once the Spotify music is playing then play the SkiFit video. You can then adjust the volume controls offered by each player to fine tune the balance between the music and Neil’s instructions.
